Speaker: Jen Stovall, BSN, RN
This lecture explores integrative, patient-centered approaches to opioid addiction through the lens of holistic nursing and interdisciplinary care. Participants will review the neurobiology of opioid dependence and withdrawal, alongside evidence-informed use of botanical and nutritional supports such as Withania somnifera, Passiflora incarnata, Scutellaria lateriflora, and Magnesium to support the nervous system, stress response, sleep, and emotional regulation. The session will address harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and supportive strategies that complement conventional treatments, including medication-assisted therapy. Emphasis is placed on compassionate clinical engagement, safety considerations, and collaboration within integrative care teams to support sustainable recovery.
