AtHerbal Educational Services, we are honored to welcome our community back to the Blue Ridge Mountains in May 2026 for a very special gathering of the Medicines from the Earth Herb Symposium. This year marks our 30th anniversary and a long awaited return to a place that has held decades of shared learning, connection, and tradition. After the impact of Hurricane Helene and an extended period of restoration, we are grateful to once again gather atBlue Ridge Assembly, a venue that has been thoughtfully renewed and prepared to welcome our community home.
Medicines from the Earth has always been more than a conference. It is a place where clinical practice, traditional wisdom, and relationship with the land come together. In 2026, we return with renewed intention, expanded learning options, and deep appreciation for the resilience of both place and people.
A Meaningful Return to Blue Ridge Assembly
For many of us, Blue Ridge Assembly is woven into the fabric of our shared history. It is where friendships have formed, teachings have taken root, and long conversations have unfolded against the backdrop of the Appalachian landscape.
Following Hurricane Helene, the campus underwentextensive restoration efforts focused on long term resilience and care. Infrastructure has been refreshed, gathering spaces improved, and the land itself tended with intention. Returning to this setting represents continuity and renewal, and we are deeply grateful to gather again in a place that feels both familiar and renewed. We look forward to welcoming you to a campus that honors its past while supporting the needs of our community today!

New Registration Tracks to Support How Our Community Learns
In response to feedback from our community and the evolving ways people engage with education, we are introducing two distinct registration tracks for Medicines from the Earth 2026. These options allow you to choose the experience that best aligns with your interests and professional focus.
Clinical Registration Track
The Clinical Registration Track is designed for healthcare professionals, clinical herbalists, and practitioners seeking in depth botanical education grounded in clinical application. This track includes access to live clinical lectures throughout the weekend, streaming access to recorded sessions, and digital lecture notes. Topics are selected to support practical integration into clinical work and to encourage thoughtful, evidence informed practice.
Optional intensives, continuing education credits, meals, and lodging allow clinicians to further tailor their experience.
Herbalist Registration Track
The Herbalist Registration Track is a new offering created for herbalists, students, educators, and plant centered learners who are drawn to experiential learning and community connection. This track includes access to the keynote address, guided herb walks, medicine making demonstrations, and two panel discussions. It emphasizes relationship with plants, hands on practice, and the cultural and ecological dimensions of herbalism.
This option was created to make Medicines from the Earth more accessible while preserving the depth and integrity of the experience.

Program and Speaker Highlights
The 2026 program brings together respected teachers and practitioners from across the herbal and integrative medicine communities. Sessions balance clinical rigor with traditional knowledge, ecological awareness, and lived experience.
We are especially honored to welcomeRosita Arvigo as our keynote speaker. Her decades of work bridging traditional healing systems and contemporary practice have deeply influenced the field of herbal medicine, and her presence marks this anniversary year in a meaningful way.
Additional offerings include guided herb walks through Appalachian ecosystems, medicine making workshops, and panel discussions that explore the role of herbal medicine in health, culture, and community resilience.
As always, some of the most meaningful moments at Medicines from the Earth happen outside the lecture hall. Shared meals, informal gatherings, and conversations that unfold naturally throughout the weekend remain central to the experience we cherish.
Why Gathering Matters This Year
As we celebrate 30 years of Medicines from the Earth, we recognize how much has changed and how much remains rooted in shared values. The return to Blue Ridge Assembly after a period of disruption mirrors a core principle of herbalism itself: resilience, adaptation, and care through change.
This year’s symposium reflects our ongoing commitment to thoughtful education, accessible pathways to learning, and stewardship of place. It is an opportunity to reconnect with one another, with the land, and with the work that brings us together.

We Invite You to Join Us
Attendance at Medicines from the Earth has always been intentionally limited to preserve the quality of learning and connection. With the significance of this year’s return and anniversary, we encourage early registration. Whether you join us as a clinician deepening your practice or as an herbalist seeking hands on learning and community, we look forward to welcoming you back to the mountains.
Medicines from the Earth 2026 is a return, a renewal, and an invitation to gather once again in a place that has held our community for generations.
