A timely discussion on risks associated with regular menopausal hormonal treatment contrasted with  the use of "phytoestrogens"- herbs and foods with estrogen-like activity.  The several types of phytoestrogens in vegetables, legumes and other foods are examined.  The question of whether to eat soy foods is addressed.  Herbs including red clover, black cohosh, evening primrose and others are examined for their therapeutic qualities.  The presentation concludes with an evaluation of the risk-benefit of mammograms.
