Botanical Regulation of Detoxification

Kenneth Proefrock, ND

Describes the detoxification mechanisms of the body, including Phase I and Phase II systems.  Four categories of therapeutic intervention in the detoxification process are described. The first is mobilization of fat-soluble material, the second is alteration of the way Phase I deals with toxins, the third is increasing the speed of the phase II reaction, and the fourth is insuring the elimination of toxins from the body.  Diet, physical exercise and therapies, nutrients and botanicals are described for each of the four categories.
